It’s an album cover.
When people see my latest tattoo the inevitable question is, ‘what is it?’ It is not, in fact “an ice cream wafer and a lettuce leaf being chased by a plum” (thanks Martin), it is a representation of the cover of one of my favourite albums, an album that has many lyrics that speak to me and my life, so much so that they have inspired a post all of their own (https://lovelaughtertruthblog.com/2016/03/28/music-medication-for-the-soul-3/).

There is an added feature on my tattoo that doesn’t appear on the album cover – two birds. Like all of my tattoos, they represent something incredibly important to me. No, not the two women that have broken my heart in the last two years….
No, the birds were the idea of my daughter who suggested that the sky should have a bird in it. It made perfect sense, I decided to get two birds added to the sky to represent my children, the most important people in my life, my constants, with me always in my mind, my heart and now on my body.
I had the tattoo finished yesterday, birds added along with a sky effect. My little boy took a look at it and said, “Daddy, you can be the sky.”
And such is how inspiration strikes…

Thank you, I think I’m becoming addicted to tattoos and already know what my next one is going to be! I find it amazing how things come out of me when I write that don’t come out any other way, it definitely allows me to tap into parts of myself – and teach me things about myself – in a way that nothing else can.

My son is 5, my daughter 8.

They seem to grow up very quickly! I see photos of my daughter and wonder where my little girl went!
Yeah they do. Though I like the age my daughter’s at as we talk about all sorts and it’s nice to listen to her opinions and watch her forming her own understanding and values in life
Yes, it’s great to see how they develop into their own people and how their traits carry through from when they were so little!
