Life can take some unexpected turns when you start to say yes.
Following my wholly unexpected and, as it turned out, pretty successful Ultimate Style & Dating Fix with TranslateHer (https://lovelaughtertruthblog.com/2016/07/18/take-me-down-to-the-paradise-city-stepping-up-my-dating-game/), opportunity came a-knocking again, this time in the shape of a photo shoot.
Now, I would never have imagined that a ‘models wanted’ request would show up in my notifications but apparently there are all kinds of niches out there, even for middle-aged divorcees it would seem.
It turns out that in the online dating world professional profile photographs are becoming a thing. No longer is it enough to strike a pose with a sedated wild animal or to take a topless selfie in a poorly lit bathroom with the toilet in the background with the seat up; women today are a more discerning bunch and are demanding more from the modern man. A bag full of charm and empty promises just doesn’t cut it.
Shocking, I know. But if you want to win in the dating game, well, it’s time to up your game.
Which is where Hey Saturday comes in.
Hey Saturday is, according to the website, “the UK’s first and coolest dating photography business”. Founder Saskia Nelson has been credited by Time magazine for creating the genre of dating photography and is recognised as the leading dating industry expert on all things dating photo related.
Hey Saturday has proven to be hugely successful and has featured in many major newspapers; they currently offer photo shoots across various cities in the UK including London, Edinburgh, Leeds and Sheffield, with plans afoot to expand internationally.
When I was alerted to the fact that they needed more images of men for their website, what could I say? Of course, being the accommodating chap that I am I said yes, offering my chiselled, reasonably well preserved and resolutely pout-free features for service. All in a day’s work.
So, armed with nothing but a brooding edginess and confident swagger I headed for the bohemian streets of London’s Chalk Farm to get my geek chic on…
“Don’t just stand there let’s get to it,
Strike a pose there’s nothing to it…”
“Just a hunk, a hunk of burning love”
“Bloody paparazzi…”
“I could have sworn she said she was only nipping to the loo…”
“Pfffft Calum who? That’s all my own hair that is…”
“And so I says to her, I’ll tell you what material the shirt’s made out of love, boyfriend material.”
“I feel just like Duncan from Blue…”
I’d thoroughly recommend a photo shoot with Hey Saturday, it’s relaxed, good fun and it’s an experience to remember. And it may just help you to find the love of your life.

LOL. I see you are the new internet sen-sa-tion! Nice shots there, too! You ought to be getting dates already and potential partners queuing up your doorstep. 😉
Haha thank you, it’s still quiet outside my house but I’ll let you know when the queues start forming ?
Some great photos x
